Before one can have a spelling checker, the spellchecker needs to have it's own dictionary to correct from. This is why the MaltiLex project is foundational in this arena. With a workable lexicon of the Maltese Language, the data will be in place to implement the designs which are already being worked on. Maltese spelling presents its own complications and difficulties, but this is not to say it is impossible. Please see the MaltiLex homepage for more details.
